3 Energy Drinks You Need to Avoid

Energy drinks are great beverages to refresh your body after a long and taxing day at school or work. If you’re constantly tired from not having a good night sleep, like me, energy drinks are for you. But with so many varieties of energy drinks, from flavors, caffeine levels, and price, which is best for you? The best way to find out is to try all different kinds of energy drinks. But if you’re like me, a poor student, you should spend your precious money on the energy drinks that give you the best bang for your buck. So, here are 3 energy drinks that you MUST avoid at all cost based on my biased semi-professional review.

1. Alani Nu (Cherry Slush) 4/10

At first glance, Alani looks like your typical tropical drink, in which it definitely tastes like it. When I first saw it at my local CVS, I was intrigued by its colors. But the flavors were definitely not intriguing. The Cherry Slush tastes like cherry as the name implies, but there’s a sour aftertaste to it, which is not delightful at all. The taste of sweet to sour throws off the whole vibe to the drink. In which, I would not recommend this drink to anyone.

2. Bang (Peach Mango) 5/10

Bang was probably my all-time favorite energy drink for a while, before the big scandal around it, causing it to stop restocking it at my local CVS for a while. But during my Bang energy drink phrase, I would drink all kinds of flavors that CVS offered. I adore many flavors, but peach mango… was not one of them. Other people might like this type of flavor, but the combination of peach and mango is not meant for me. In which, there’s so many better flavors to choose from than peach mango, like pink unicorn and cotton candy.

3. Rockstar (original) 2/10

My dad introduced me to Rockstar after he discovered my energy drink addiction phase in life. My first impression of Rockstar is that it tasted like a rundown version of Monster. It also has a metallic taste to it, that I didn’t enjoy. In which, comparing the similarities of the two, I would rather get Monster than Rockstar, as it’s actually more nutritious with less sugar and caffeine.
